The Scottish Thistle Awards are once again open for nominations and entries!
For over 20 years the Scottish Thistle Awards have been recognised as Scotland’s tourism industry’s Oscars. Organised by VisitScotland in association with the Aberdeen City and Shire Tourism Awards, Highlands and Islands Tourism Awards, HIT Scotland, Scotland Food and Drink, Scottish Licenced Trade Association, Scottish Tourism Alliance and sportscotland, these prestigious awards are without doubt the ones our industry leaders want to receive and have in their trophy cabinet!
Last year Angus was notable by its absence. We feel this is down to the very few numbers of businesses in our area that put themselves forward for these awards. We would be delighted to see lots of our fabulous members apply this year. If you think you would like to give this a try we would urge you to do so. We are certainly not experts in completing the application process but if you are keen we can help to facilitate and try to find the support that you may need.
The Scottish Thistle Awards are based on 5 regional programmes with the winners progressing to the National Final. Regions included in the programme consist of Aberdeen City and Shire, Central, Fife & Tayside, Highlands and Islands, Lothians and Borders and West. The winners of each area will represent their regional categories at the national final awards ceremony.
With 14 categories across many sectors there is a category for every tourism business or individual, so don’t miss this opportunity to be recognised in the Oscars of Scottish tourism! Nominations are anonymous. The information is not shared with any other businesses. The number of nominations a business receives does not count towards the application. The following categories are straight to entry: Regional Rising Star, Regional Ambassador and Tourism and Hospitality Experience
You do not need to be nominated to enter, businesses/individuals can go straight to entry themselves.
The awards are free to enter! Nominating has never been easier and will only take moments so make sure you enter!
Nominations close on Friday 22 June. Entries close on Friday 29 June.
