Adventure Sprout is a community-driven platform helping families discover things to do locally with children – from classes and events to places to explore, eat and play.
Built by a parent who needed it, Adventure Sprout brings together a map and calendar of child-friendly activities in one easy place, removing the overwhelm of endless searching and scattered Facebook groups. Families can browse freely without signing up, while local businesses, community groups and organisers can list their activities at no cost.
The platform is designed to support local tourism, leisure, food & drink and community venues by increasing visibility, encouraging off-peak visits, and helping families feel confident exploring what’s nearby. Every listing helps another family get out the door – and helps local places reach the people most likely to visit.

Alison Reid is the founder of Adventure Sprout. She built the platform from a personal desire to make it easier for families to feel connected to where they live, and to reduce the social isolation many parents experience. Alison is passionate about working with local tourism providers, cafés, attractions and community organisations to help families discover what’s on their doorstep – and to support the businesses that make local places worth exploring.
