  • Caroline farms with husband Ross at Auchterhouse on the Sidlaw Hills producing Scotch beef, Scotch lamb and malting barley.
  • The couple also have a luxury tourism business on the farm called The Hideaway Experience which has a 5 star grading from Visit Scotland and which has reached the finals of the Scottish Thistle Awards.
  • Farm tours are also offered to tour groups and visitors in the spring and summer months.
  • Caroline has her own rural business consultancy which she has run since 2007,working one to one with rural businesses as well as delivering national programmes such as Scotland’s Agritourism Monitor Farms for Scottish Enterprise. One of the first monitor farms was located in Angus in 2014 & 2015 at Peel Farm.
  • Caroline is a volunteer on the Scottish Food Tourism Board where she represents the agritourism sector, sits on the Scottish Tourism Alliance Council, is a board member for Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) and SAC Commercial. She is a Nuffield Scholar, studying agritourism across 10 countries in 2012 and 2013.
